I’m looking for an eCommerce script for setting up my shop. I want a free and open source Ecommerce script. I tried few but didn’t like them, wasted a lot of time in just trying. I wanted to try PrestaShop, Can anyone let me know, based on personal experience, if this is any good?

It is total shite like rest all of the eCommerce script. Over two decode of experience using them. I’ve used them all. There are many issues with PrestaShop which you will start to discover as you keep wasting your time thinking that you are getting closers to build your dream online store.
At some point you will just give up and will say fuck it.
The biggest problem is that it is built by French whose English is as good as my Chinese. They have used so many strange sounding terms everywhere that you will just keep scratching head what the fuck the mean.
It’s backend is fucking slow.
They don’t have any modules for UK based merchants. You can’t fucking add UK counties and Royal Mail shipping.
They have been around for decades but simple customisations don’t work in the admin and you will have to edit template files.
They community forum is full with arrogant jerks, you will never get any help from there.
Like every other free open source script this is also a disguise, you will have to pay for every module which you need.

Thanks for quick reply. What you have written is eye opening. I have seen some of the UK based online stores use PrestaShop and I’ve also made purchases on such sites. Looks ok to me. Te only issue as user I faced was that it was a bit slow. I Wonder how do these stores make it work if it is so full of shite?
They hire paid help aka agencies to build the store. It will cost fortune for freeloaders like us.

All are freaking pain in the ass. Code your own or hire someone to do for you.
